okay so i'm bad at blogging.

we're going to see the venue on saturday to make sure we're sold on it (but let's be honest...we already sent in a deposit check)...so we'll be able to check out the area and find the best b&b's, restaurants, dinosaur theme parks, and whatever else we can find....all for our guests stay during the wedding.

here's a link to the house website. ain't she a beaut?

the stuff

A registry is extremely overwhelming to me. Why are there 45 options for a cheese "grater" at Target?! Fine grater, medium grater, zester, rainbow colored, greater grater, one that turns your cheese into gold. I mean....c'mon. Maybe I'll just register for a variety of already shredded cheese instead of making all these decisions.

Also finding it hard to get things to decorate our home with that are new. We are both flea market/thrift store addicts and appreciate the "gently used" 60s wares as opposed to the modern look. Just yesterday, Jonathan said to me...."I want to able to look at our {fully covered with frames, art, etc} wall and say, 'this wall cost us $20.' "

And then there was blog.

Well. Here's our first blog post as an engaged couple. I guess, technically it's just my first as an engaged girl....(it's not like we're going to sit together, typing every other letter...), but none-the-less.....here is our blog. We wanted to keep everyone involved while we're in the process of planning the wedding. We look forward to comments from all of you. Good examples:

"You guys are doing great! This is going to be the best wedding we've ever been to in our entire lives....and probably the existence of the world."

"Oh, Cara. You're going to look so pretty! Kinda like you do every day of your life...."

"We just went out and bought you everything on your registry! We just couldn't help ourselves!"

and so on and so forth....

Right now, our main focus is settling on a house to hold the wedding at. After getting it down to 7.....then 4.....then scratching all of those and getting 2.....then being told there are zoning laws we didn't know about and it was illegal to hold a wedding at a vacation rental home.....we threw in the towel and headed to the court house.

SURPRISE! WE ELOPED!

.....ok just kidding. But we DID start searching for new houses. And we found the perfect one. It wasn't available for the date we wanted, but who the heck cares?? We'll move the date! We'll wait to show you pictures until we've sent in the deposit and it's a done deal.....

Good news. Throughout this whole "planning" stuff, we're not finding it hard at all to focus on what's really important........tax breaks.
